Founded by mechanical engineer and sustainable energy expert Scott Hunt, our company is built on real-world experience and technical excellence.

Scott—featured on National Geographic’s “Doomsday Preppers” and widely known as Engineer775 on YouTube—has spent over a decade teaching sustainable systems and building off-grid solutions across the country.

He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and specializes in custom water and energy systems.

Practical Preppers®, led by Scott Hunt (Engineer775), offers professional consultation services to help you design and implement sustainable energy systems— off-grid, grid-tied, or hybrid tailored to your property and your goals.

We’re now booking Winter 2025 Turnkey Solar Installations and DIY Projects.

Turnkey installation services are available to residents of the Southeastern United States only.

Each consultation includes a full site evaluation using Helioscope, Aurora, Google Earth, and NearMap. You’ll receive a virtual solar design, a simulated production report, and a complete materials quote for your system. Permitting and plan set assistance is also available if needed. Shipping logistics will be discussed during the call.

After booking, you’ll receive a Dropbox link to upload supporting materials, including a recent power bill and photos of your meter, electrical panels, and the planned installation area. This ensures we can provide the most accurate system design possible.
