I’m excited to share the capabilities of the SkyRack Canopy, a new multifunctional solar-powered structure designed to generate energy while providing storage and charging solutions. Offered through a product integration by Practical Preppers with Sinclair, this canopy combines Sinclair’s durable components with Practical Preppers’ expert design assistance and material selection to create a reliable, modular solar solution.
In my latest configuration, 42 solar panels connect to a Sol-Ark 15K inverter to power the site’s office, while six additional panels run an off-grid AC unit, offering an efficient, solar-powered cooling solution. I’ve also installed an EV charger, enabling two electric vehicles to charge entirely from solar power. This 2-Bay SkyRack Canopy is constructed from two Sinclair solar ground mounts, fitted with 48 solar panels to generate sustainable energy and provide shaded storage for vehicles and equipment. Its design is well-suited for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural applications.
This canopy is more than a solar generator—it serves as a testing ground for advanced solar technology. I’m currently integrating the upcoming LunaVault energy storage system, which will store up to 300 kWh of energy. Additionally, the covered space protects equipment and allows for future expansions, such as lighting and additional outlets. One major advantage is its cost-efficiency. Compared to traditional structures like pole barns, the SkyRack Canopy is more affordable and offers modular scalability. Expanding your system is easy—simply add more panels and extend the ground mounts.
Looking ahead, I plan to add LED lighting for nighttime use, waterproofing solutions to maintain bifacial panel efficiency, and additional outlets to meet increasing electrical needs. The SkyRack Canopy is available in single-bay and dual-bay configurations, both equipped with bifacial solar panels for maximum energy capture. With seamless integration options for LunaVolt and LunaVault storage systems, plus DIY installation kits and expert support from Practical Preppers, this canopy offers a scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solution.
